Lena and I thought we'd start this weblog as we start our new life together.

First, the name. For most of you, the first part should be obvious. If not, you can read about it here
Now, many of you are probably asking about 'sushi'. Lena is Korean, not Japanese, you would say, and sushi is Japanese. Well:
- There's not many Korean foods that people know in general. 'Kimchi' didn't seem to go well with anything.
- Lena speaks Japanese, and not Korean.
- Lena introduced me to sushi - I had never eaten it before meeting her, and fell in love with it, just as I fell in love with her. (Well, ok, not in exactly the same way.)
- Our first date was at a sushi restaurant in Tashkent, where I first tried sushi.
So, the name highlights both our diverse heritage and our occasionally confusing backgrounds.
